A PTFE-lined reducer is a pipe fitting used to join two pipes of various diameters and provide superb chemical resistance with efficient flow. The lining inside is composed of Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), an inert, corrosion-free material, making the product suitable for industries that deal in aggressive chemicals, acids, or high-purity chemicals. PTFE-lined reducers are widely applied in chemical process, pharmaceuticals, food beverage manufacturing, and water treatment. PTFE lining avoids the process fluids coming into contact with anything other than the inert surface minimizing contamination and prolonging equipment life. There are two general types of PTFE-lined reducers: concentric in which centerlines coincide, and eccentric, in which centerlines do not, each engineered for particular flow applications.
